Religious Education Calendar

The goal of our Parish Religious Educational Program (PREP) is to bring the teachings of Jesus and the love of God to all who attend.
  
The program is offered to children from Grades 1 to 7.  We have seven levels of instruction with Level Two being the First Reconciliation and First Communion Program, and Level Seven being the Confirmation Program.  We also offer an accelerated program for older students who may not yet have received their First Communion or who may have been away from the program for many years. We require Levels 5 and 6 to be completed before moving into Level 7, which is Confirmation. 

P.R.E.P. is taught by Lay people from the parish who have a desire to spread the Good News! 

Religious Education classes for Kindergarten to grade 8 students run from September to June.  Classes are generally held on Saturdays from 3:45 - 5:00 p.m. followed by Mass until 6:00 p.m.  Students receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion when they are in grade 2 or at the end of their second year of PREP classes if they start at an older age.  Students receive the sacrament of Confirmation when they are in grade 7 or after a minimum of three years of PREP classes if they start when they are older. 
                                                                   
Our first class for the 2010-2011 school year will be on Saturday, September 11.  This first class will be held from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. starting in the church hall, and will be followed by a barbecue for all parishioners!  At 5:00 all classes will come upstairs for a special Mass during which the catechists will be commissioned. 

If your children are of school age, you can register them for PREP classes at any time by picking up a registration form at the entrance of the church, filling it out and dropping it in the collection basket with the fee of $60.00  per student; or you can contact Rebecca Neilson by phone at 250-642-7795 or, by email at beccaneilson@gmail.com
